Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?

Since the Athos are a rather tall people, Gunn himself is well over 6 feet, probably knocking on 6'6" or so. He is a warrior, so he's well built and muscular where it matters. His got broad shoulders and a wide chest and back.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?

Gunn's the cock of the walk. So he pretty much walks like he owns the world.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?

He's a warrior and hunter by trade. So he can't afford to be unhealthy.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?

It depends really. Gunn's fluid when he's hunting, but he's also a bit of a stumbling drunk.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?

Andy Whitfield is his PB so, he's hot shit and he knows it.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?

Gunn's dark enough not to be pale, since he lives on a snow-capped mountain. He is heavily scarred, especially across his chest and legs from various hunting accidents and brawls. It's a wonder he hasn't killed himself.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.

Gunn's hair is dark brown. He's only worn it long when he was a teenager and at that time, it was a very curly mop on his head. Now he keeps it cut close to his scalp.

9. What color are his eyes?

Blue

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?

His nose has been broken before so it's crooked.

11. What are his chief tension centers?

Neck and shoulders.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?

He wears furs and leathers mostly. As for his armor, he wears chainmail under his leather armor.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?

His clothes generally fit, but Gunn hates clothes and goes naked whenever he can.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?

He only wears his armor on special occasions or when he's hunting. Otherwise, he's in furs and a tunic. Unless he's running about naked.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?

Commando He lives in a medieval society, he wears ~smallclothes~.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?

He's got a sort of deep voice. When he's singing bar ballads, he's usually the bass.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?

Once again, that depends on the situation. His pitch pretty much stays the same: level and easy. He's got no problem talking your ears off.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?

He carries a heavy Athosian accent and he swears like a sailor.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?

Whatever the Athos speak. It's probably the base language for what ultimately becomes the common tongue in Calage. He's fluent in his native tongue and it's likely he can converse with a native, but not without difficulty.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?

Nope.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?

He's impromptu. Insults roll off his tongue like water off a duck's back.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?

Eh. The "civilized world" would most likely consider him uneducated. Gunn isn't eloquent by any means. But he can get his point across well enough.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?

Street-smart definitely. Gunn can't read or write, but can hunt and survive in hostile conditions.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?

The man is responsible for more than his fair share of bar brawls. So it's helpful to be able to think on his feet.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?

Gunn's brain runs on instinct and practical ideals.

4. What kind of education has the character had?

About what's expected of an Athosian. He learned the oral history of his people (though if asked to recite he can barely remember half of it). He can hunt and track and knows how to clean a kill. But he can't read or write.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?

Hunting, drinking, and brawling.

This is a guarded secret, but Gunn does want to learn to read. He's tried teaching himself and ragequit every single time.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?

Extrovert

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?

Gunn is cheerfully (maddeningly) laid back. Getting a rise out of him seems nearly impossible. Unless he's drunk. And then his fuse is significantly shorter.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?

Unless they're lowlanders, Gunn is enthusiastic to meet new people. Especially new women >_>.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?

Act. He'll punch you out before you punch him.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?

Fight, definitely.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?

Puns tend to go over his head, but other than that, Gunn'll laugh if it's funny, offensive or not.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?

No he's not been diagnosed, but he's probably got one.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?

His parents death, his first (and last) marriage, and becoming a full hunter within his clan.

14. What does he fear?

Losing his sister.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?

He aspires to try every single dwarven ale in Orzammar.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?

That he wants to learn to read. It just seems embarrassing for anyone to find out.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.

His parents are dead you jerk. But it was good when they were alive.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?

He does have a younger sister, Ida. She's a whey-faced maggot-pie. And he loves her to death. Gunn and Ida are unbelievably close. So close, in fact, that they can finish each other's sentences. So close, in fact, that Gunn walks about their house completely naked and thinks nothing of it. He's stupidly protective and disapproves of every boy she's ever brought home. Essentially, don't mess with her and he won't cut out your tongue and feed it to you.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?

Not really.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?

Nope.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?

Ida. When he was 11, his father put a squawking newborn in his arms and told him that she was his sister. He said 'this one's ugly. Can we get a new one?' They've been thick as thieves ever since.

6. Does he have other close friends?

Just a few drinking and hunting buddies. That's it.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?

Gunn would be surprised he's got the few friends he does. He doesn't give enough of a shit to bother with social niceties, so basically what you see is what you get. He's rough around the edges and he likes it that. Take him or leave him. It doesn't hurt his feelings not one bit.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?

Family.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?

I'm not sure the Athos have divorces in the traditional sense of the word. Marriages are not permanent arrangements. Gunn was married when he was 19 and the marriage ended 2 years later. He didn't particularly care for the girl he married, so he didn't try very hard at getting all of the knots undone.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?

Well he's a free man. But he's been in a relationship (if you can call fucking her on the floor of a rowdy tavern a relationship) with someone else's spouse, if that counts.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?

Gunn can honestly say he's never had a crush before. Because every woman he's ever truly desired he's had. Except one. And he doesn't know even know he desires her yet.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?

No emotional attachment and/or expectations from him.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?

None that he knows of. He might have a bastard or two floating around.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?

Is the Pope a Catholic?

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?

He's pretty much straight.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?

Sex is the 3rd most important thing in his life. After Ida and booze.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?



Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life? Not particularly. His people worship the Mountain and Sky, but he's not particularly devoted.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Don't cross him. Gunn is an honest man, despite his flaws. And so long as you're straight up with him and do not try to harm him or his, then he's got no problem with you. It's just how he was raised. Lying wasn't tolerated by his parents and so he doesn't lie in turn. That's why he's gotten into so many fights.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? Gunn could give less of a shit what the lowlanders believe. It's none of his business and he just doens't care.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them? Lowlanders and outsiders from other clans are often viewed with disdain. Gunn isn't immune to sharing them.



Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? He's fine enough. He's a pretty successful hunter and makes a gold or two when they trade with sister clans.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him? He's a hunter. In Athos society, they're one of the most valuable people alive, as they are the defenders of the clan, as well as the main source of their income and food.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others? The Athos are nomads, and so travel across Calage's mountain range, following their food. They generally live in longhouses, that can be destroyed easily and the material used for something else when it's time to move on.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?

he buys little trinkets for his sister, new weapons and the like.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?

he's a hunter by trade. it was what he was born to do and he loves it.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?

Having a good time is waaaaaaaaaaay up there on Gunn's list of priorities.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?

Gunn drinks like a fish and eats most of what he kills.
